Watched Top Gun in preparation for Top Gun 2 on Friday. Wow i couldnt remember it being so... clunky, pacing was off and the action sequences were i guess (brillant at the time) but not as good as i remembered. Could have sworn it was a lot better than what i watched. Guess as a kid you dont notice as much :D

The day after I saw this at the cinema I joined the Royal Navy for 7 years , that was in 1986 and I was 17 . Wont be doing that again on Sunday when we go and see it .

@Bald-Eagle22 OHMSS is brilliant, the sound track is awesome.

I always had expectations having first watched Craig's Casino Royale, the series reboot was always going to build up to the OHMSS plot... Sadly not. :(

The Changeling (1980)

Never heard of this film before, starring Robert C Scott so I had a feeling it wouldn't be too shabby.

I really enjoyed, a slow burning ghost story and more akin to thrillers like The Dead Zone (1980) rather than an outright horror. 8/10. Love these types of ghostly stories!

The Changeling is probably one of my favourite ghostly horror type films.

Along with Prince of Darkness.

Dr strange : MoM 6/10

Not sure if it's the title that felt a bit misleading but it literally just felt like it should have been called Steven Strange vs Wanda Maximoff.

I expected something totally different and I hope the next one will be better as this felt like it went to the far ends of a fart and dragged 30-45 minutes extra than it needed to.

Top Gun Maverick (2022) - 9/10

An excellent movie that captures the style and magic of the original whilst bringing it up to date.

The plots follow similar beats and themes to other films, but are told well and with a light touch, whilst also being a respectful memorial and entertaining.

Great acting, good characters, iconic music, stunning aerial action scenes and an edge of your seat exciting finale.

10/10 for me. This is one you definitely want to see in the cinema.
