What film scared you the most as a kid?

I watched The Shining when i was about 9, and it scared the hell out of me. It was the twins that did it. It's actually my favourite movie of all time now, probably because no other film iv'e seen has had the same shock value. Apart from Visitor Q.....

Same here, I don't think any other film has caught the atmosphere of it. The silence was creepy and the scene in the maze was weird. You never knew if he was catching up to them or not and when he froze clutching the axe his eyes terrified me. The closest film I've seen to living up to the book.

Salems Lot. The part where Danny Glick is at the window. Jesus I was scared :(

Think I was about 12 at the time.

When I was older I would have to say Hellraiser, makes the hairs on your neck stand on end.

nightmare on elm street

my mum was doing a tape to tape recording (it was that long ago!) and i come home from school and put the telly on, just at the point as someone was sucked into the bed then blood went everywhere etc.

had nightmares for ages!

was about 7 at the time :/

Neither scared me while watching them but I refused to go in the sea for months after watching Jaws and couldn't take a dump for days after watching Arachnophobia.

Candyman...Candyman...Candyman...

The part where he appears behind some guy, and his hook basically rips him from the stomach upwards. I Was far too young to be watching **** like that.

I stayed at a friends and his older brother had Nightmare On Elm Street. We thought we'd watch it. We were 9 and 10. Huge mistake. The scene were Depps character is pulled into the bed and the blood spews out of the matress... ****** me up for WEEKS! Wouldn't get into bed without checking under it. Had to have a light on. I still have nightmares about being pulled into a matress.

haha, snap :D

Muppet's Christmas, watched it today and remember being scared watching it as kid.

I was probably about 7-8.
