What films do you look fwd to on HD DVD?

Once upon a time in America. The cinematography in that film is amazing and would look lush in HD on a 92" screen.

iv just ordered Goodfellas and Casino on HD-DVD, granted Casino isnt in the same league as Goodfellas but still it should be fantastic in HD

I’m not that materialistic to replace decent quality DVD films with HD ones, I can understand why people replace VHS but to go to the next extreme so soon is a little over the top IMO

I agree. Video tapes can't be played in a DVD player, but DVDs can be played in an HD-DVD player, so it's not the same. I'd still watch my videos if we had space for a video player under the tv, so I will have no need at all to get rid of my dvds.

To be honest I've looked at HD-DVD and it really doesn't appeal to me. It's not the foramt but the content that's available for it. Although I was an early adopter of the DVD format I won't be buying into HD-DVD or BluRay for a few years until the studios start releasing the more interesting films for the format. My favourite films only came out on DVD this year (Point Blank and Pat Garett and Billy the Kid) and I'm still more than happy with those. For the time being I won't be taking another look at the HD formats until they have finished releasing all their usual pap like Will Smith movies, The Perfect Storm and all that kind of guff.

Ive seen that in HD, looks good.


As for the debate about what films will goto what format, at the end of the day, whatever format wins, all films will goto that format, even if owned by the people who backed the losing format.
