I have my Ibanez Jem 7V, and i love it, i would never part with it ...

I used to have a Washburn N4, and loved that, and am thinking about getting another....

and it struck me, we dont all have the guitars that we would like! or is there any guitar that you just love?

I quite like the look of the Ibanez PG, or an Alvarez Scoop

what say you?

:)

I'd quite like a Maverick at some point as I love their styling, or any of the higher end Ibanez range!

have tried a few mavericks, they felt not too bad! kinda like an ibanez wizard neck, although i wasnt a fan of the volume control etc.

my Jem is just delightful ... its screams, and the action and playability of it is to die for ...

:)

I've got a Jem myself. The JEM7BSB. That was the one i wanted, and it's still my favourite of the Jem lineup.

I have my dream Strats. A Japanese olympic white non-export '62 reissue with texas specials, and a '72 reissue in Vintage white (the same colour Malmsteen uses)

I'd still like to get my hands on s Iron Maiden Signature Strat. They only made them for a year or two. They were made in Japan (no bad thing in my experience) but way over priced. You don't see them very often, but i loved my Floyd Rose Strat when i had it, and i love Maiden, so it's win win.

I'd also love a PRS custom 24. Tigerstripe 10 top, bird inlays, zebra bobbins, and in black cherry i think. If i could get a decent price for my PRS CE24, i'd go and look for one.

I've always wanted some sort of resonator, but I've never been able to justify getting one.

Some sort of vintage Strat or Les Paul would be just peachy, I think. Their prices are pretty prohibitive, however.

I'd love to own a Suhr carved top, or a Tom anderson. They would be custom made of course.

For an "off the shelf" guitar, would probably be a MusicMan Petrucci Fully loaded in Mystic Dream. Best guitar I've ever played.

Wouldn't say no to this either!

If we are talking any guitar I'd pick one of these (and I want the original :) ):

Not long ago i'd have said a Les Paul but I played some a few weeks back and wasn't really blown away to be honest. Each to their own I guess :)

I'd love a Pensa Custom Mark Knopfler MK1 signature guitar, they're made entirely to your own specs but I've not played enough guitars to know what pickups etc I'd prefer on it. The colour and finish is stunning:

I only had a brief mess around with guitar before I realised that I was impatient and a disgrace...
Always wanted a Roswell Rhoads though, my mate had one and it just looked pure awesome, a work of art.

Tough one this because I like a lot of different sounds. I've always liked and used Washburn guitars, and have a thing for tele's too. I'm not so fussed about looks, just playability and sound, but this baby ticks a few boxes..

drool...

I'd take a Washburn N4 Vintage at a push too, crikey....

Suhr-Carve-Arch-Top-Standard-NAM-4.jpg

Suhr-Carve-Arch-Top-Standard-NAMM-2.jpg

Suhr-Carve-Arch-Top-Standard-NAM-3.jpg

But mine will have chrome hardware, uncovered pickups, a reversed headstock and no inlays, that finish is called fireburst too, mine's gonna be chilli pepper red so it'll be a very dark sexeh red =D I've waited 2 months already for it, probably going to be another 2-3 before it's finished /pain

I've had a Jem 7v, Patrick Eggle, and for the past 2 years been playing my Ibanez RGA121 pretty much solidly, I'd like another one to string with 11/12s and tune down to D standard, and a 7 string, but other than that there's nothing much else I'd like tbh.

Edit: Oh aye I'm also scouring eBay all the time for a Jap Squier Strat, either in whilte with rosewood board, or sea foam green (such a cool colour) Gonna string it with 11s and fix the bridge, it's gonna be an angry ******* for blues!

some interesting choices !!

Strats i dont like, i think they sound too thin and weedy, and the neck profile sucks, and i am not a big fan of the fret wire they use either, really thin

I have tried loads of Gibsons, and hated everyone of them! the LP's sounded nice, but where a nightmare to play, and dont lend themselves to shredding ... and the weight! same thing with SG's, it was a job to stop the head on it from crashing through the floorboards !!

I have a friend who collects PRS's and while the quality of them is obvious, i just dont like them either.

i guess as long as its got a neck like a lolly stick, and a big whammy bar, then i am happy !!

gonna get a Floral JEM or another N4 !!

If only my post contained one guitar.. :(

I'm currently REALLY wanting the following:

http://www.sandguitars.com/products/nylonelect/mahogany/mahogpics.htm - I wouldn't be getting a Kirk Sand, but a copy of one from a local luthier. This is definitely at the top of my list.

http://www.godinguitars.com/godinmultnylonsap.htm - A Godin Multiac Nylon. Probably the standard of fingerstyle nylon. You've got 25 1/2" scaling, and a 1 7/8" nut. Ideal.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USA-Fender-st...ryZ33039QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem - Fender Strat Plus. I'm basically looking for a 'dream' Strat, as they're one of my favourite guitars of all time. I've played one, and it's one of the nicest guitars I've ever played. Comes with Lace Sensors as standard, and the profile of the neck doesn't choke the bending.

http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=JS100 - I've also fallen in love with the Ibanez JS100. The cheapest of the JS Series. I don't have a guitar like that, that's a 'shredding' guitar, and compared to the other Ibanezs, Jacksons and what not, this was my favourite.

http://www.classical-guitars-plus.c...438__Gypsy+Jazz+Guitar+Maccaferri+Style+D-500 - Gitane Gypsy Jazz Guitar. It's a copy of the Selmer Maccaferri D-500, like the one that Django used. Obviously I can't afford something like that, and apparently this is the best copy around. I love playing Gypsy Jazz, so naturally I would love a half decent gypsy jazz guitar.

http://www.gibsoncustom.com/flash/products/archtops/L5CES/L5CES.html - Any of these Gibson Custom Shop archtops. Awesome for both jazz and fingerstyle. Two genres of playing which feature very highly for me. These are all awesome guitars (obviously).

http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/index.php?product=G6120-1959&cat1=&cat2=&q=&st=1 - I'd love any of the Gretsch Chet Atkins models, but this one has it all for me. Filtertron pickups, single cutaway, the B6C Bigsby, ebony fingerboard, and has the classic Chet colour.

http://www.washburn.com/products/electrics/nseries/index.aspx - As mentioned above, I would also LOVE an N series Washburn. I love Nuno Bettencourt's tone, and I love his playing, which is why I would LOVE one of his guitars. :p Any of them would be a dream come true, bar the N1 and N2.

http://www.taylorguitars.com/Guitars/Acoustic/GS/GS8/ - Although I couldn't see myself investing in one of these for a while, I would quite like to own a Taylor GS. I played one a few months back and it was an absolutely beautiful instrument.

http://www.maton.com.au/acoustics/ebg808-artist-te.html - Those of you that know anything about my musical tastes, and playing were probably expecting this. This is the guitar that Tommy plays. The Maton APMic is one of the best acoustic guitar pickups ever devised. This guitar is quite honestly awful acoustically, but as soon as you plug it in, it becomes one of the best. I've played a couple of these, Gareth Pearson's was absolutely incredible, my friend's one is absolutely oh. This has shown me that these guitars are very much hit and miss. Luckily Gareth has said that I'll be able to get one built to spec if I wanted. I'd be opting for the TE by the way. I prefer the grain of the soundboard, and neck inlays and the headstock.

Meh.. That's it for now. Will probably add more. :o

How much did it set you back?

I'm a bit unsure of the history of Suhr and Pensa - did they used to be the same company but have split? I could swear MK had a Suhr guitar first before moving onto the Pensa's, but they look the same. (same headstock/body shape)

I have a Maverick Species 1 :) it's one of the earlier ones made so it has "normal" knobs and a regular superstrat shape. I got it cos they're VERY good value on the bay.

Neck is nice, if anything too thin. The pickups are a little lame, and i may eventually get round to changing them. Unfortunately though i have found, and also read in reviews from other maverick owners, that the frets tend to wear quite quickly in comparison to other guitars.

I'd love to get something like a san dimas charvel from the 80's
