What happened to all the 3060s

Is this because of what Elon said about BTC again?

People know it's not worth mining BTC on GPUs right?

Then why have all GPUs sold out the day Elon promoted BTC again?

Because when BTC rises ETH tends to rise with it, which is the coin GPU's are normally mining. You also get paid in BTC if you use programs such as nicehash to mine with.

Ergo GPUs sold out because Elon promoted BTC.

If bitcoin really is that inefficient to mine, why do people bother with it at all?

There's some 3070's in stock right now. $920, still very overpriced but that's already more competitive than scalpers. I think the scalpers might just have more GPUs than what they can sell. I think we're finally starting to see the market going back to normal
