Bought 6 1st class stamps. First complaints...
They are gold . Why aren't they red?
They are auto-stick. Why can't I lick it?
They have horrible perforations through them, presumably to stop people peeling them back off, but it's ugly.

How do I get good stamps in the future?

They still haven't solved the problem of a line of idiots queuing in front of me in the post office to buy 1 stamp each though.
maybe some people only need one stamp.
around my way the 2 local newsagents barely ever have individual stamps and when they do they are a rip off compared to the post office prices.

cant say ive seen these self adhesive stamps that have aparently been around for years either, the last time i was at the post office a few weeks ago i bought 2x first class stamps and they were both the regular kind just oversized and with some famous peoples pictures on them instead of the usual stamp
you can buy one stamp? That would have saved me some cash.
you dont have to buy a full book, but you may get labeled as an idiot by certain ocuk members if you only buy as many stamps as you need.

btw you can also buy stamps on the royal mail website that you print off yourself (obviously it isnt just a picture or one would last a lifetime)

Yes but a reasonable person would buy 6 stamps and keep them in their house for when they need to post a letter. Then instead of jamming up the post office so I have to wait 10 minutes catching their diseases they could just take one stamp off, stick it on, walk to the nearest postbox and post it. Or they could get a job with Royal Mail and get free stamps.

some people dont post letters very often so the extra stamps end up lost somewhere unless your very organised. around my house people tend to just shove something in a cuboard or draw in the kitchen
They've been in normal use since something like 2000!?

seriously all the stamps ive had even this year ive had to lick, they have been good old fashioned stamps bought directly from a post office.

maybe they dont have them up north yet?

theyve been non lickable for well over 5 years. even up north and probably scotland too

you must have been buying stamps from some sort of retro village shop who has 10 000 of them out the back from 1990

the post office in question is 2 minutes from newcastles city centre on one of the main roads leading into newcastle surounded by motorbike shops, it generally has queues at both the counters so its unlikely they are still trying to shift old stamps
