Sod's law, I get a newer car and it wants to make babies with a kerb. :p

I limped it home, where I immediately noticed the wheel was sticking out at the top, and in at the bottom. The tracking was also well out, so I adjusted that by eye to at least make the car driveable.

I whipped the car round to 3 independant garages, all of who said they couldn't see any immediate damage to the suspension, and suggested I take the car to a reputable bodyshop to be put on a jig.

I did this, the guy said it would take around 3-4 hours, but after half an hour I got a call saying the machine wouldn't take the car as something suspension wise was bent, meaning the jig couldn't fix it.

So, looks like I've done some damage. :p

I have new suspension for the passenger side from a ZS180, and I'm picking up a new subframe tomorrow. Does this sound like it'll fix the problem?

Cheers! :D

Can you not get under it and have a good look. Difficult for anyone to tell you exactly whats wrong from what you are describing.

Also how on earth did you manage to get sideways at 30 into a curb?

Can't see anything from underneath, but the subframe is hidden by the under engine covers - off they come!

No idea how I did it, one second I was taking a fairly large corner quickly but OK, next second it let go of the road?! Where I hit half the kerb was missing, so I'm not the only one :D

And at rolling road days.

Super budget tyres as well?

Somebody needs a reality check, dont drive Rover 400.s like an Elise. As its not one :p

Might want to check this mate, now I know the suspension from a 180 will bolt straight on (with it being the same design :p) but double check it'll be fine on the diesel...with the other 3 corners running different suspension for the diesel 110

Not a wise move unless the components are identical if you ask me!

I agree with Phate - the L-Series diesel is heavier than the KV6 so I would have thought that the suspension would have been different on the diesel to account for the heavier weight of the engine

I'd let someone else find out whats wrong before you waste money and effort on things that may not fit or are not bent in the first place.

Awesome so the suspension on one side will be different to the other?

I can't remember if suspension is different from the 180 and Diesel 110, but its possible :p

I think you're the only person who has no idea how it happened. Consider it lesson learned please before you hurt yourself or someone else.

If your tyres are rubbish these cars understeer badly, good tyres and they'll grip and grip but the backend will let go first - assuming your tracking is setup correctly to!
