What have you done to your car today?

Hmm well I have been very lucky in the past ;) so as this is my first ticket for speeding in over 20 years I have to just accept I was lucky in the past & unlucky this time (its such a minor amount as well only 5MPH above the limit I hope they give me the course instead of the 3 points ).
If it's your first in that long you'll definitely get the course. The bands for the course are pretty big up to 40 something in a 30 IIRC and 86ish on a M way.

New cluster is in and programmed to the correct mileage :)

Just soaked the alloy wheel nuts in alloy cleaner for an hour, then cleaned off then soaked in WD40 for a few minutes and cleaned off to get all the crap out of the inner where the nuts go, drives me mental the crap in there so all done :) Removed the V8 badge off the back as well as I hate it then used alchohol to remove the sticky crap. All done and todays work is done lol

Dropped the wife's Fabia into the garage for service, MOT & new tyres.

All good, apart from an advisory for worn tyres on the rear.....when I questioned it they said the MOT was done before the tyres were fitted.
I asked if the advisory could be removed as I had requested new tyres all round when booking it in so why were they not fitted prior to the MOT test, & was told no.

Not a big deal, but annoyed the car has an advisory on it now for something that doesn't need doing.

It'll not be there next year though will it? The state of some MOT histories I've perused, I wouldn't worry about a consumable.

True, like I say it's not a big deal, just annoying, but common sense would suggest you if the owner had requested 4 new tyres to be fitted, you would fit them before you do the MOT.

Got the replacement cat on my MX5 after the “scum” chopped the original off 3 weeks ago. Hell of a racket taking it to the garage.

15 degrees today, so roof down whilst ferrying the missus around on a shopping trip. Lovely

I fixed the Lexus. It took 20 minutes to remove the old alternator, 10 minutes to install the new alternator, but 6 days of ******* around trying to get a supplier to send me one that matched the part number I gave them.

In the end the alternator I ordered was listed as being for an MR2 SW20. After playing the game of sending suppliers my reg and being sent the wrong one, then sending them the part number and still being sent the wrong one because they thought they knew better, I ordered with the part number alone and got an MR2 alternator which fitted perfectly.

Had a moment yesterday when the throttle stuck open accelerating off a roundabout (had to knock the car out of gear and switch the engine off). Taking everything apart seems the throttle assembly was just a bit sticky. Think some wd40 has sorted it out.
