What have you done to your car today?

Insured it for £293 (yay for halving the miles and getting old) and booked it into BMW for an MOT/health check and to look into two hopefully minor issues. *

I could start a side business with that to pay for what ever amount of money this is going to cost, so would be quite a useful addition

Had a new tyre fitted following on from the above.

Fitter dented/scratched my wheel. Fuming. Its only a small mark but they were perfect. Knew something was up when it took him 20 mins to remove my old tyre!

Said he will have to get the wheel sent away to get it refurbished. Don't really want the whole thing refurbished and end up with a poor job and mismtached colour. And the inconvenience of it all.

I'll ask ford to repair it and send them the bill. That's reasonable isnt it?
Its a big chain so they should be used to this sort of thing.

I may be totally wrong, but as far as I understand it, when you send a wheel to a main dealer to be refurbed, they don't actually do it in house, instead they outsource it to another company. Even assuming the company does a really good job, I suspect the wheel is likely to look ever so slightly different to the original one on the same side of the car - depends how fussy you are really.

I would get a smart repair type job done, they are often very good. Where exactly is the chip? On the lip? Do you have a picture?

Its on the lip. Its only small but I know itll bug the hell out of me if I dont get it sorted. Haven't got a picture, will take one after work.

I've got a little scuff and car park ding that needs to sorted so may get them to look at the wheel at the same time.

Sorry I meant get ford to get their smart repair man to sort it. If they have one that is. I'm fussy so a whole refurb terrifies me :D I'd end up getting all 4 done!

Ah I see - that should be fine then. And I'd assume it'd cost less than a proper refurb so the garage should be happy to pay.

I would be so ****** off

Oh I am, incredibly so.

Already machine polished most of it out, but there are a couple of deep(er) scratches that need some colour, which is annoying enough, but Audi don't even have a touch up kit for my colour yet as it's still too new :(
