Hi all,

I'm on a diet

...but I'd still like to eat my Indian Food... But mostly is home made.

What would you say is healthy?

Thanks.

How about making it yourself.

That way, you can avoid the salt, suagr and trans fats that are added to the processed crap (and the pre-made filth you find in a large number of restaurants / takeaways).

Here's a general rule of thumb - If you didn't make it yourself, it's unhealthy.

Unless, of course, the OP meant real indian food, and not what us lardy arsed brits term indian food. In which case, I'm not sure that 0.6 billion people are chowing down on unhealthy grub. By default, it's healthy.

Curry isn't all that bad for you. Obviously try and stay away from the creamier sauces and have brown rice where possible. Naan isn't all bad (expecially if you have the ones with veggies) but for a bit of a difference try rotti.

Avoid anything like onion bargies.

Also worth noting the hotter the food the more weight you'll loose by eating it.

Most indian food is heathy. Fresh herbs/spices/fruits, lean meats, Yoghurts.

Lace everything in ghee then yeah its not very good.

Mainly Subji's I would say (no sauce/liquid, just veg). Also Saag (Spinach) is meant to be good for you.

As said above, the darker the better and just get poppadoms instead of nann, also just get boiled rice, someting like a Chicken breast Dopiazi madras hot with 3 popadoms and boiled rice should do.
