I got a carbon skin kit today, ordered it a few days ago from eBay, £2.50 shipped. I thought it was worth a punt for that price and I actually really like it. Good fit, the sim tray is accessible, it's nice. I put the front on as well but it looked awful so that came off straight away.

On my 4S I use a Magpull case http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG450/125 made of sturdy stuff, has a 1-2mm lip at the front so keeps the screen just raised off the dirt if you drop it.
