Why is it with everything i have orderd recently comes with a euro "kettle" plug? I'm sick of the dam things.
In the last week i have got a new Antec true power psu. And a samsung monitor, both from ocuk. And Both came with a euro plug. I would rather they didn't send them, as now i will have to put them somewhere safe incase i ever need to RMA.
Anybody else sick of getting them?

well, if they didnt come with them, how could someone use them?

i understand you have spare kettle cables, but not everyone does.

also, wouldnt it be easier to use the kettle cables that the product comes with?

The worst experience I had with this was when I ordered my HP 2310ti off of a certain rain forest.

Despite the fact that it was a UK designated screen it was shipped from France so whoever had boxed it up had presumed it would be used in France and hadn't even included a UK plug -.-

Was honestly quite frustrating running around the house trying to find a different power lead that would work with the new screen....

Euro plug mate....lol... As in they dont fit the uk socket. I didnt have any spare. I had to use the one from my old psu. And had to go into town to get one for my monitor as my old one used a 12v transformer.

I find its mainly PSUs that do this, is a bit tedious really but they probably sell more in Europe so more people benefit from it than little old Britain

If it didn't have a UK plug then the product wasn't meant for the UK market. European import?

Some products come supplied with UK and European plugs as the same product is sold in both areas. I've had TV's which come with both.

If I'm reading this corectly:

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1994/1768/regulation/12/made

then by law an electrical item sold in the UK must be fitted with a standard UK plug or if fitted with a non-UK plug it must be fitted with a permanent conversion plug only removeable with a tool.

If your right, somebody from overclockers will have to go and stand on the naughty step.

ah, i thought you meant the normal kettle cable. i figured the end of the kettle cable that fits into the machine was the same in the whole of europe, and you were complaining about getting lots of them.

this explains why you posted this in the first place too, because complaining something has the right power lead (which is what i thought you were doing) seems a bit dim

I really don't think it's such a huge issue. When you do get European exports you usually end up paying less and an adapter for the euro plug is only a couple of quid :)

Yeah, but shelling out about £260 for a monitor means I'd quite like a UK cable with it :p

yea I suppose it can get annoying especially if a parcel arrives with something you've been waiting for a long time and you've been saving money for.... and when you open it, it turns out the plug doesn't fit your socket no matter how hard you try lol :D

Buy a cheaper monitor then and your have money left over for a cable:rolleyes:

Or do your homework first;)

Hang on...he bought a product from OcUK and it didnt come with a UK compatible power lead.

Exactly what homework should have been done?

OcUK should be advising customers that items that require a UK plug do-not come with one at the point of purchase.

OP - have you complained to OcUK at all?

Wow where do you guys buy your kit lol. Ive recently bought last year and none of them had EU plugs. Does show that OCuk probably get there stuff abroad?

Samsung LED TV - UK Plug
Corsair HX850 - UK Plug
Viewsonic Monitor - UK plug

I do however think the EU complain about us, "Stupid English drive on the left and have silly plugs"

Actually mine came from a rainforest, so not as surprised, but the OP's were from OCUk, which is shocking....
