What is so special about a Honda Integra Type R - DC5?

It is a 4 door saloon with 220BHP surely that competes with a Subaru WRX which has 225BHP?

OK power outputs and size/doors don't always make cars direct competitors but they seem too similar not to compare IMO.

Not really, anything with a turbo on it obliterates these kind of cars out of low to mid speed corners.

They are cars for completely different driving styles.

A hatch parked beside a can of worms :p

But the FD2 really is a textbook example of a saloon. 4 doors, a boot and a fixed rear screen.

I'm not saying it's not a saloon, but it's still a hot hatch. The term is synonymous with what the FD2 is, so it's a hot hatch, like my Coupe is a hot hatch.

I'd expect a standard DC5 to dispatch a 225 WRX without too much trouble under any circumstances except a) launch from standing start and b) wet conditions.

If you're into high revving NA four cylinder engines then the DC5 is second to the FD2 as one of the finest

I'd love one but I'm not willing to pay the premium associated with them

To be fair it is pretty much the SAME engine.

Premium is great. Means if you buy one you shouldn't lose a huge amount of cash - just need the capital though. I have a DC5 itch still

Good time to buy a DC5 now as the prices are fairly low, i managed to pass mine on having only lost about 1500quid in 18 months and 25k miles, if i'd have waited another 12 months i'd have easily lost another 2k on it.

The K20 is still one of the best engines out there. How much ahead of it's time was it in 2001. Everyone wants to stick them into kit/track/project cars, so makes it a pain in the rear to get a replacement engine for our legit cars.

The torque argument is silly, just shift down a gear :)
