I currently have an AGP mobo and do not want to give it up as its a cracking card. What im asking is what is THE best AGP card currently on the market? Its no holds barred :D

I believe its the Gainward 7800GS but i am normally wrong but at least i bumped it for you. :p
They have a new card due out that will be even better.
Gibbos' the man to talk to.

Fastest?

Or the best value for money?

Fastest is easy, the 7900GT thingy on pre-order...

Value for money is arguably where you should be heading, but I'm not sure that would take you to the same card....

If you wait a while, somebody will be along to say the best AGP card is a PCIE mobo and X1900XTX!

I thought that might happen, but after buying a new P3.2, cooling & a mobo (after the last one stopped working) I have spent far too much to turn back now. I have in total spent £300 getting it this far. With hindsight I would have got a new CPU, mobo & graphics card, but this is reality, which is why I asked about AGP graphics.

If you want the best agp though then i would buy the 7900gs whch is a 7900gt in essence! so really that would last you a long time!

Get in fast though because of limited quantities for pre order! Also something to not would be do you really want to spend £350 on a card?! Thats the thing!

Also with some pentium models its damn hard to egta pci-e + agp mobo that has a 16x full speed pci-e port with a lot of them being limited at 4x despite saying 16x on the spec sheet!

The trouble is though that it would mean I would also need to flog it all, my hard to find IC7 mobo, P3.2 S478 & the Thermaltake cooling as well, and after spending £300 altogether, I doubt I would get much in return.

Would be wrong again, as its the GainWard 7900 GT. ;)

Tell me, if I said that I would be selling my brand new P3.2, ABIT IC-7 Max 3, Thermalright SI-120, Akasa Amber 120mm fan & Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS, how much would I expect to get for it? Everything is mint condition.

I would probably end up selling my Gainward (Golden Sample) 6800GT @ Ultra as id end up going PCI-e.

I was thinking that, but id like to keep the mobo that I have.

I was even thinking about selling up and getting a new CPU, Mobo & PCI-e card, depends on the price deficit and how high a speed id be looking for, but it would have to be future-proofed to play games.

I just realised that myself :p I am always wrong i think peeps are getting used to it and just ignoring me. It's the best way. :D

Would it be worth me selling my Gainward (Golden Sample) 6800GT @ Ultra and then buying a Gainward 7800GT from here? Its the one that costs £276, with 512mb ram on it.
