What is the difference between the RD480 & RD580 crossfire boards?

What is the difference between the RD480 & RD580 crossfire boards?

Apart from the price that is, i know it has something to do with the northbridge chip but unsure what benefits the newer RD580 has for crossfire compared to the RD480.

Is there any major differences in performance that justifies the price difference?

Even a link to an article comparing the two would be nice.

dual 16x pci-e pipelines, ability to run crossfire without a master card, better overclocking...

No, it doesnt have sufficinet bandwidth on the pci-e
