From the HTC website both have the same gps/radio/cpu/ram/rom/screen res. The HD has a bigger screen, whilst the diamond has the 'scroll bar'.

Both run TouchFlo 3d - is it the same version ?

Are the installed Apps the same ?

Any ideas ?

Different version of TouchFlo (newer) on the Diamond 2, although you can flash the HD to the newer one. Other than that there probably isn't too much difference, just the style and maybe other hardware features.

The dimensions for one. The screen difference isnt actually that drastic, but having held a HD in my hand I think I'm going to prefer the form factor (and subsequent useability) of something the size of the D2, but that's all down to taste.

Diamond 2 gets a free upgrade to WM6.5.

Touch HD UI is pretty but can be clunky at times from experience, reckon the new version of TouchFlo will solve that.

*addendum* Also, the Diamond 2 is just over £100 cheaper.

Cool my vodafone contract is up at the end o March - lets hope that the D2 is launched soon (and on Vodafone as it is the only coverage at my home)

End of March is in about 12 minutes lol.

It's supposed to launch mid-April sim free, how quickly the operators will take it on board is unknown...I'd be suprised to see it before the end of May though.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, was going to start a new one, then found this. Just like to add that it seems the HD has slightly better battery life according to the official specs, and a slightly larger screen, though there doesn't seem to be much in it either way - has anybody tried both phones and noticed any substantive difference? Bit of a puzzle as to why HTC would even bother with the Diamond 2 when the HD is so similar.
