What is the future of monitors?

Again, interesting. Re: the 240hz IPS panel, would that not most probably be a 120hz panel interpolated to 240hz? Surely they're not going to interpolate from 60hz to 240hz???

Why not? You get plasma TVs claiming to be 600Hz that just use a 60Hz signal. TVs claiming to be 240Hz also aren't unheard of and these only support 60Hz output. It would be nice if it was a true 120Hz output but I wouldn't count on it - and unless they have really worked on the response spectrum there probably isn't really as much benefit from this as you would expect. I don't mean to sound so negative and dismissive about the concept of 120Hz IPS monitors but I do have my doubts about the marriage of these technologies at the moment.

How about a natural ratio? I mean, has anyone actually plotted the average eye vision? Stare at a central point then plot the limit of proriferal vision and put create a rectangle from that.

People talk about double/triple screen bezel-less. Why not just create extra-wide monitors, it surely must be cheaper and more efficient to do it that way. I mean, nobody ever got two 4:3s and put them next to each other, they just invented widescreen.

Definatly removing of the backlight and using something like oLEDs. Making the "screen" more resistant to marks/damage would be fantastic aswell. Hard as I try, my screen looks a lot worse today than 3 years ago, and it's a Samsung 2232BW which is a very good monitor at the time.
