Thanks guys for your recommendations. Whilst looking on Dell's website at the AW3420DW (which you can get for £809.90 at the moment using the code DELLMONER11 plus 6% cashback using topcashback for today only) I came across the S3220DGF for only £313.09 using the code DELLMONER11 plus the 6% cashback if it tracks.
I did some research and it is a very good monitor but with some drawbacks, but what monitor doesn't! The 32" size is appealing as it is almost the same width as the ultrawide but a slightly higher height (although I realize I won't get the same in game view as the ultrawide due to the reduced pixel count of the 32"). The picture quality is supposed to be very nice at the expensive of some black smearing and a reduced ppi compared to my current 27" 1440p IPS monitor. It supports both Freesync and Gsync although you have to use CRU to prevent the screen flickering black. Quite a few compromises but for the sake of saving £500 it may be worth it if I can live with those compromises. If not I can always send it back and spend the extra on the AW3420DW.
I will leave a review of the S3220DGF when I receive it which may not be until early December according to Dell.
Yeah it is a consideration. If I don't like it I will just return it but for £500 saving it is worth a shot and there seems to be many happy people with this monitor.
