What is the most visually stunning Science fiction show/film ever made.

......., also Forbidden planet, for a film made in the 60's it looks fantastic even now.

Think you'll find it was made in the mid 50's Castor; either way, the effects are good.

2001:ASO, despite not being upto modern sfx standards it just leaves you in awe.

That's a film that's definitely stood the test of time, and, as you say, even by modern standards the special effects are great. The sequence when Dave Bowman is travelling through the star gate is still stunning.

ah i dunno where to start!

Well yes ill give you the camp cylon for free.

I watched all of series 1 religeously thinking, maybe the next episode will be better? then every other one in 2 when i realised it was actually tripe.

To say that the storyline and characterisation is good and one of its strong points. I just cant even begin to agree, its too sickeningly American for me to start with, its too post Gulf war and Iraq. Im actually happy everytime the cylons gun down another Human.

Why do they have AK47s and MP5s in space?? Dont you think the entire budget was spent of the CGI and whatever was left was used to hire a couple of painters and buy some of the old tacky sets of B5 and fill it full of extras? Its not an imersive world, that is probably why my little head cannot get to grips with it. It could be "Neighbours" with a few CGI space fights weaved in it wouldnt even matter to me.

I just watched an episode of s3e4 and to be honest, that was probably a pivitol storyline one for all the charcters and the entire series and towards the end i felt like fast forwarding it.

It needs more casinos, more daggits and more "by your commands"

baltarr(sp) is probably one of the only good charcters in the updated version,
Still that caprica cylon has an extremely nice pair of legs so.....

NOOOOO! late 70`s/early 80`s cheesiness is just wrong and should be confined to the periods from which is came. I mean who the hell would say "by your commands" other than a dominatrix in soho??

Caprica Cylon (called six, caprica six, and Caprica) = tricia helfer A.K.A Ford Supermodel of the World 1998.

began her career working for magazines such as “Elle,” “Vogue,” and “Cosmopolitan.”

Her campaigns also include the likes of Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Giorgio Armani and she has graced the catwalks of designers such as Versace, Dolce Gabbana, and Christian Dior to name a few.

i fully admit to being extremely attracted to Caprica 6. :D

If I followed an article I just read right- and it's possible I didn't, I was quite tired- both she and Boomer are in Command and Conquer 3's cutscenes. Also Sawyer from Lost for the ladies, and more of the guys than said guys will admit to :)

That Final Fantasy film was meant to be good, was it not?

Agree with whoever said Ghost in the shell 2 for most recent.
Total Recall sprang to mind also.

oh i just thought of another that i thought was good.

Chronicles of Riddick? (sp)

that gothic sci-fi look worked well for that.

also Dune, althought it looks hideous now i still think that the overall way they portrayed the universe was excellent.
