220 volts or 240 volts

I bought a juicer from the USA and now need to get it to work here in the UK. I heard you don't need a stepdown converter. Instead just a 240v plug adaptor, is this true?

So, after all the extensive research you apparently carried out before buying this 'Juicer' you didn't bother to check out the voltages and if the thing is compatible over here?

dvdbunny, the mind boggles! If you weren't so special you'd be special.

220-240 volts in Europe afaik, 220v in my house but my school had 230v. Don't worry bout the minor differences. The yanks have 110V. So yeah if it's made for that you'll need a converter.

If the juicer uses 1Kw, I have a feeling a step-down transformer is going to cost more than the juicer!

£90! :D

Whats it say on the plug the majority of electronics these days can accept 110-230v. Usually says on a plaque either on the plug or on the base. If it just says 110v you will need a transformer.
