What is this tv?

Vegeta, have you ever actually seen a DLP running a decent feed for yourself? I don't know why you are under the impression they are so inferior to LCDs, my Sammy gives a better picture than a hell of a lot of LCDs I've seen.

EDIT: It's not that thick TBH, it's about 500mm at it's deepest point.

Ones i've seen in shops LCD's have been better, granted everything had been connected badly, but just the colour seems to be brighter.

Its down to taste, my LCD seemed to have the Brightest and most vibrant colours when I spent several hours demoing various models, but for extra money I could have taken what I think was a better model because it had more natural colours, but I get the feeling that many people would have been less impressed by that model.
I got the Samsung R7 because it was a good allrounder, but would agree with the reviews that colours can appear a bit waxy, again some people might actually find that affect 'better'.

Comes down to snobbery in my opinion. I own a decent 28" LCD and a Sony 50" RP. When both have been set up and fed with decent feeds I can't really say one is better than the other - apart from the obvious fact that the RP is HUGE! :D

RPs are cheaper and so are seen as the budget option and hence inferior. That was my mindset until I bought the RP.

As for performance being poor in bright rooms.... PAH! Mine sits in a large bay window and have no problems using it in bright daylight.

Vertical viewing angles are limited so standing up close to the screen will result in a rather dull image, but thats all really.
