2016 MK7 Golf GTI with 53k miles bought Approved Used from VW in 2018 for £17k

Have put ~15k miles on it and apparently it's worth similar money today

Constantly resisting the urge to buy a silly car whilst I can but put off by the inflated used prices and long delays for new cars

Hey matey, how you enjoying it? I'm looking around at the minute possibly buying this year... was looking at the 3.5 V6.. how's yours holding up? PM me if it's easier mate!
Ah it's great, no problems whatsoever, I've done 20k in it in less than a year. So comfortable and easy to drive, just breezes along, can overtake when you need to, really good visibility. Done the drive to Skye (10 hours+) a few times, it just flies by.

Needs some new front tyres soon, but it's still got the snow tyres on it was imported with (from Hokkaido), so expected them to wear out.

Bit thirsty, but not a huge surprise! Get about 450-500 miles off a tank driving sensible on the motorway though.

It has been to a Snows dealer a couple of times for bits and bobs but all servicing etc and major works have been done by specialists

Peugeot 207 1.6 auto (I believe its a sport model? :D )

Year:2008

Cost? 3k

Way world is probably worth more than that now

It was has been difficult going from an s2000 to this. But since I need to cart stuff around now I don't see the point in a nice car that will never be as good as the s2k

2004 E46 318ci about 3.5 years ago. Cost €4500 with 140k km on it.
Was actually my wife's car at first but she didn't like the fact it kept breaking down :p
I've been using it as my daily for the last 3 years and it's been great. Now on 219k km and still love it (the oil leaks...not so much)

Whoops, 442 yes. Was a fine engine though overall and didn't sound like a 4 cylinder at all especially from mid revs onwards. Didn't feel like 143BHP either as it liked to rev out. Mine was a manual.

I bought my car in an auction for £2500 in 2013.

A top of the range 7 year old MK 3 Clio Prestige with fairly low mileage.

I still have it now at 16 years old.

I will easily keep it on the road until its 20th Birthday, partly due to the fact i undersealed it with several coats of Dinitrol 4941 so it would`nt rot to bits.

Yup, manual here too. The engine, indeed, likes to be pushed. Decent amount of torque so it feels faster than it is.
However, 90% of my work commute has a 50mph speed limit so I'm just doodling along. Good for fuel economy though :)

BMW M135i on a 64 Plate (November 2014). List price was £23k if I remember rightly, I paid £15k + traded in my 2012 Focus for the rest in July 2016). Had 17k on the clock when I bought it, just about to turn over to 50k.

Longest I have ever owned a car for, but it still brings a smile to my face when stuck in sport and driven.

Got mine from Stuart Spencer Autos in Brum, he's one of the main importers of Alphards, nice to deal with, car was immaculate too. He's got a good stock to check out either way.

They're great value compared to VWs, and a nicer ride as they're a luxury mpv rather than a van.

Ours has a 48" day van conversion, so a big wide bed comfortable for two people (I'm 6'2" and got loads of room). No built in cooker or anything, but just have camping stove in a cupboard. Has a table you can setup, but both doors still open so it's really useful just as a van too.

2010 VW Passat CC paid £5k for it just over 3 years ago, with 101k miles now on 145k.
My wife’s car 2011 Mazda 6 petrol paid 5.5k about 5 years ago with 65k miles now about to tick over a 100k miles.
Would really like to replace them both next year, but with how expensive everything is right now, will be keeping hold them for another year at least it until I can save up some more towards it.
