What kind of car does £33.33 get you...

He dissent but it for 33 quid, he paid a third of it for some reason - it was bought for 100

Presumably paying a third each is because it's a project and if they sell it on they split any profits three ways.

However even at current exchange rates it's still only about €113 which according to snowdog's figures is at least €400 less than a BX in the Netherlands. Even if you just cashed in the Road Fund Licence you'd get about 4 months refunded wouldn't you? Plus whatever you can get in scrap value so a purchase like this at least offers a good chance of breaking even if not an outright profit.

Tax Refund: 67 Quid
Petrol in Tank: Fiver.

So even if we burn it with fire, it still only cost us 9 quid each to get back from London in it. Quite the bargin I'd say.

Haters gonna hate, yo'

I looked into BXs for quite a while (The GTI 16V model with the MI16 engine was peanuts for me to insure!) as from what I gathered the replacement parts for the suspension system were rather cheap to replace?
I believe the "strut" (if you can call it that) is expensive but the spheres and valves aren't particularly pricey and aren't harder to work on compared to conventional suspension - just different.

Different = scared mechanics and horror stories.

Haha! Brought back some fun memories with this purchase dude. Friend got one for a very similar price back in the 90's. Every 15miles or so we'd have to pull over and re-attach various pipes that'd pop off spraying that green fluid (hydraulic stuff from the suspension I believe) everywhere. Brilliantly comfortable and a real shame about the reliability as I quite like the look of them even now.
Hope it puts some smiles on your faces, if nothing else, during your time of ownership and good luck :D

Good lord look at that steering wheel.

What were they thinking? :o

It's a citroen. Even the C4 has a funky steering wheel where only the rim moves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfpvnpjEd2s

Also the suspension isn't expensive that's just a myth by people who don't know anything. Spheres are like £20 each.

If you're changing the fluid, you should flush it for about a 1000 miles with hydraflush, and then put new mineral oil in.

Also leaking fluid is no laughing matter, as it also powers the brakes. Is the brake pedal a valve, or is the pedal spring loaded (onto the valve), if it has the spring, remove it and fit a bit of plastic pipe in place, will make the brake feel much nicer.

Just about time for an epic bump,

This little £100 car failed its MOT,

-> Operation of Indicator Adversly Affects Operation Of Position Marker Lamp

Bit of wire wool and some heat, and it PASSED!

Single Advisory for Handbreak cable chafing wheel, cable tie sorted that out, and its got a year more life left in it :)

It has sprung a few leaks and runs a little rough, but we have sorted the leaks and are well on the way to sorting the engine, this is turning out to be one heroic little car! Put nearly 10k on it since we bought it
