I'm thinking of selling something on members market, but not sure which delivery to choose, Its got to be safe and the buyer should be happy with it, I was looking at Standard parcel but I'm not sure thats safe, what should I choose, Next day delivery, is that Ok?

Thankyou, K

Are you sure you are allowed to discuss stuff like this outside of the members market?

Could always give the buyer a few options of postage if he wants to pay more for it or not.

How are you selling it?
If its on eBay you need Special Delivery or parcel.

If its on here, just get recorded delivery with enough insurance.

I will always use a recorded delivery service for posting anything over £10. If it's more than that, then I will see what the compensation available is compared to the value of the item. I think 1st Class Recorded offers compensation up to £46, could be wrong, and Special Delivery offers compensation up to £500 - you can pay a bit more to cover more expensive items.
So either that, or use a courier service such as parcel2go.com

Last week i paid £9 to send a graphics card special delivery, the guy at the post office talked me into it because the value of the parcel was over £46.

yeah its for members market on here and I don't think a graphics card is going to be that heavy, I'd rather spend money on good quality bubble wrapping and a box and less on delivery. So should I go for Recorded Signed For or next day, which also has compensation.

If you are going to post office ask them what is cheapest, but make sure you have enough insurance. You can pay for extra insurance, or at least could and recorded.

Courier like parcel monkey (city link) 2kg cost with £100 insurance - £9 quid

they collect from your premises - which saves me 30 mins + queuing at lunch time every sodding time

Driver collects and signs receipt for any insurance issues.

But its also got to be cheap as I'm investing in good packing. Something near or under a fiver. so its recorded delivery? By the way how much would this cost? and how would the other person know it had been dispatched? I was also thinking of buying something on MM, , Is paypal safe for transactions, Say If I bought something and the seller was a fraud would I be able to get a refund, or if was damaged and the guy refused to take it back and lied?

When sending things via recorded or special delivery I'll always send a quick message to the buyer, letting them know when it was posted and quoting the reference number (keep the receipt btw!)

Personally I always take a photo of parcels that I send out, with postage applied, before handing them over for delivery too.

I'm assuming that you've already taken lots of photos of the item, including serial numbers etc?

Watch it with the weight when you do special delivery, goes from under £10 if it's under 2kg to over £20 if its anything between 2kg and 10kg.

Got royally ****ed for a £40 PSU when I sent a couple of items SD and didn't take note that the PSU had gone over 2kg.

Dunno, seemed the right thing at the time.

Expensive and a waste all round since the recipient then took their sweet time getting round to doing something with it their end.

even not recorded is insured upto £46 aslong as you get proof of postage.
