What memory to overclockers a i5 thanks

Dual Channel DDR3

Get 4GB, you'll already know if you need 8GB

1333 to 2133MHz - higher speeds don't make all that much difference

Find one which suits your pocket.

All the ASUS boards support XMP so if you get memory above 1333MHz you'll need to enable the XMP profile in the BIOS to get them working at the speed advertised. Or you could do it manually but the point of XMP is that it changes the settings for you and you don't need to worry about them.

DDR3 memory goes up to 1600MHz, everything above that is overclocked one way or another.

Sometimes 1600MHz memory is 1333MHz memory overclocked too.

Point is, you can overclock them manually, change the voltages, timings and so on by hand to get the faster settings.

OR if you have an XMP compatible motherboard and XMP memory, when you plug in the memory sticks and turn on the computer you should find an XMP option in the BIOS which then applies settings guaranteed by the manufacturer to overclock the memory to the speed they sold it at.

The first one is out of stock but it would work if it was there

The second would also work and it has an XMP setting to overclock it to 1600MHz. I think OCUK uses it in some of their bundles too.

The 2nd link I posted above these sound like thebest bet, as overclockers are rating these at

- 4GB memory kit (2 x 2GB) for use with Dual Channel DDR3 Intel Core i5
- 1600MHz
- Latency of 9-9-9-24 for maximum reliability and performance

and run at 1.65v

so these should be fine?
