What monitor settings?

I have a 22" Samsung monitor at the minute, and I was thinking of using my Panasonic TX-42X10B for gaming (MW3, Rfactor etc) but I can't seem to get the settings right on the Panasonic. Its not as sharp as I thought it might be, it looks ok but I was expecting a better resolution, if I can't get it setup I am looking for a slightly bigger monitor as my current one is capped at 1650 x 1080, and sell the Panasonic.
I am running a Sapphire 6870 with 2 Dvi and 1x HDMI and using the HDMI out.
Any help would be appreciated

Ok I sold the Panasonic, to get a slightly better monitor to go with my samsung 2233BW, but with just £150, what 24" is out there?
I just bought an LG 3D tv and its pretty damn good, the 3D movies look really good on this and they also do 3D monitors, anyone have one?
Reason I am going for another monitor is when playing MW3 sometimes I can't see things that others can, no its not the beer!
