70-200 out of the lenses you mentioned, it's a great lens and already proven that you'll use it lots. What about the 16-35 mkII? I've just bought a cheap Tamron 17-35 until I can afford the Canon L.
I think personally just going to a 5D is going to dramatically alter the way you take photographs.
More than anything is the huge viewfinder which opens your eyes to see more of whats going on through the optics. I think the 70 - 200 is great but its so heavy. Its not a fast lens to switch to when you are in a hurry either due to its sheer size. I would consider that your 17 - 40 is gonna bloom into a gorgeously wide shooter on a 5D and your top end of zoom is gonna take a huge wack so if you feel the 135 isn't long enough on a 40D then a 135 on a 5D is gonna really suck for you. Its just about picking a working range you are happy with.
Mind if I ask what price Kerso is currently doing the 24-70L for?
I'm tempted to sell my 28-105L and put it towards one, since moving to FF the 28-105 doesn't have much in terms of reach so considering a 24-70 and 70-200 combo.
Pocket wizards or similar - I VERY nearly bought an elinchrom kit the other week, and pretty sure I'm going to get it anyway.
Don't do that Phate. I have an Elinchrom set that I have never used in anger. One sender, Two recievers.
Not that there is anything wrong with it. It's just that flash isn't my style.
Give me a call and we can sort something out.
