I just found this and it fixed my problem
some odf the bosses are a pain thoughRemember Me
Generally slated when released on console due to linearity, poor combat etc. Picked it up cheap in Steam Xmas sale as I quite liked the sci-fi/steam punk, dystopian future theme that it seemed to have going on.
Must say I've been surprised and really impressed with Remember Me, the gameplay is admittedly very linear but the story is the main focus so the linearity isn't a huge problem, there is still some room for minor exploration to find data and upgrade packs.
Combat takes a little getting used to as it's more about timing than button mashing, you also have scope to customize combo's on the fly for different combat situations, it's quite a limited system but could have been great if expanded upon. The game also involves a fair amount of platforming which is generally pretty simple but adds some nice variation.
Won't give the plot away but it basically involves the digitising, extraction and storage of human memory. The game uses memory sequences and memory re-mixes to allow the protagonist to pass obstacles within the game and progress the story.
Visually stunning at times (in an arty way) and also has a great soundtrack (music lifts emotively in combat when you pull off a decent combo).
The linearity and slightly weird (at first) combat system may be a problem for some but this game for me is a prime example of how game reviews shouldn't be taken as gospel, it's a much, much better game than 99% of the reviews would have you believe and goes on my list of underrated gaming gems.
