What PSU is needed for SLI 470s?

800MHz run of heaven 2.1, crysis and a few other things, does get the PSU fan working (normally on very low speed - at stock on the SLI it doesn't spin up more than normal) which means it is starting to push the PSU but no problems so far... not tried furmarks on both cards together tho lol. My Q9550 setup runs ~109watt IIRC less clock for clock compared to an i7 9x0 based setup tho.

^^^ fair enough.
Furmark in my opinion is BS. If it can play games Crysis/COD/Civilistation/Hawx2 and other stuff for hrs then that baby is stable.

Looking around on the SLI ZONE -
3 way 470gtx recommended PSU that are under 800 are:-

Toughpower XT 750W - 60A on 12V

Guys if your having trouble with power consumption use this simple tool.
My recommendation is 620W.
great tool

Im sorry to drift but is that fan just hanging in your case by a shoelace setter?
Yes, a shoelace and a cable tie thats attached to the 24 pin atx connector, not pretty but it works.

EDIT: cpu is at 4ghz, cards clocked at 751 mhz, the psu isnt under any stress as the fan on it never rises in speed, im also running 2 hdd's, a pcie soundcard, a blu ray drive and 8 case fans.

Personally i think youll be fine with an hx 750w, maybe if you overclock seriously it might be different. However gtx 470's in sli will power through any game at stock, i do run mine at 750mhz, but they dont run any hotter than stock or stress my psu at all.

Not that im going to be a D0 core i7 so i can actually get my chip to 4ghz. Currently at 3.6 Im looking to put 3 HDD in raid also. I would like to OC my graphics cards to 800 core.
