What retro things have you done today?

Are those replacement keycaps?

Edit: oh it's a whole reproduction computer..??

What is everyone's retro space like these days? I've not had one for a year or so now but I've suddenly realized (and measured) that this corner could be a perfect retro hidey hole. I can get a 60cm wide bookshelf (sideways like the current massive IKEA thing) + 50cm deep desk without fouling the radiator. There is 110cm total width so I can get a 105cm wide/long desk.
How deep are 15" CRTs will one fit on a 50cm desk?

I finally bought myself a slimmer bookcase and a desk so now I have a retro corner again. I don't have a spare PC case any more so I tested the 20 or 21" Dell monitor that has been in the loft (whilst we had a leak) on the PS2 over the composite input. Everything needed a clean but is working still.

I've got a boring case (but with a 5.25" bay) on the way and I will treat myself to an underwhelming graphics card and maybe an Audigy / 2 / Live.

Such a nice little setup! Is that Lagkapten you're using for the desk? I've recently added a 4 cube Kallax to the spare room for a similar setup.
I really should post pics of it... I'm not sure what image share site is the best to use these days

I was enjoying my DirectCU II 7970 not that long ago, it held up surprisingly well on modern games even at 1440p when paired with a Q6700.

They are excellent cards. This version and the Matrix Platinum are fully 3 slot cards. I also picked up a Firepro 10000 (great name) which is basically a 7990 which I am looking forward to playing with when I get the time.

My case arrived today, a "Vida Corporate" M-ATX case with a mesh front and a few front and internal 5.25" and 3.25" bays. It still has space for a front 120mm and rear 92mm fan. It came with a 500W power supply which will probably be on fire by this time tomorrow especially as I am using a molex to 6 pin adapter! The graphics card has a TDP of 96 watts so hopefully 20 watts over molex should be fine...

I built a standard Windows XP Socket 775 build in there - Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz, 4GB DDR2 800, an ATI X1950XT and a Creative X-Fi, with windows installed on an SSD. I did dabble with a Matrox G450 for some late 90s games but I couldn't get DirectX support to work on any drivers so gave up.

The main reason for setting this corner up was not having a case that allowed for a 5.25" bay (so no XP and disk gaming) and my main monitor being 1440p (again not supported by XP and limited to fairly new graphics cards that can do that resolution) as well as needing to have 2 or 3 mice / keyboards on the desk for my main PC, work laptop and then a retro PC. So now I've addressed all those things.

Time for *looks at collection*... Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield

Do I see one of the earliest sufferers of GPU sag there or is it that sata cable pushing it or are my aged eyes wonky? :D

Tidy for an Matx build of that era though!

Yeah it definitely has a bit of sag going on :( There are many cables stuffed behind the motherboard tray and also above the optical drive. The front panel audio, USB 3 and all the extraneous power cables are stuffed into one 5.25" slot.

The desk is linnmon 100 x 60. The legs are Adils.

I still prefer the (very) old Ikea desk leg things I have in my normal PC:
