I was thinking today, that I have quite a good collection of experiences/items for a seventeen year old. So I thought, if mine is this good at seventeen, then some of the people's on here must be awesome.

I have:
  • Two of Matt Bellemy's yellow Muse plectrums
  • Robert Plant's autograph written "To Nathaniel, best wishes Robert Plant"
  • Two CDs and a book signed by Tommy Emmanuel - these have more centimental value than others can appreciate
  • I met all the members of Radiohead when they were recording part of their new album
  • I bumped into Kyle from The View at The Lion King musical
  • I bumped into The Hoosiers in a Motorway Services
Last two aren't that great. :p I really can't think of anything else, but I'm sure that there's more....

So, what are your stories?

Nothing special.. unless you're a crazy Otway fan..

Have a ticket from Ian Dury's last gig, where i met Sugs from Madness and Ginger Baker from Cream.

Various things signed by Richard Thompson.

Was in the 'backing choir' for the B side of John Otway's Bunsen Burner (we got it to no. 9 if you remember ;) ) with my name on the single sleeve

Thats about it.

Way too many to mention, I was on the mailing list for Earache records and as such recieved backstage passes for numerous concerts. The more notable meetings are :-

Ozzy, including the original Black Sabbath line up.
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Slayer
Napalm Death
Cradle of Filth
Entombed
Paradise Lost
Biohazard
Rob Zombie

Ginger is one of my idols. :(

Wp. ;) :p

And Azgoth, that's an awesome list.

I stood next to Planty for a few seasons discussing another **** Wolves performance week after week

I also got lashed backstage with The Rasmus :o :D

A Dave Mustaine plectrum
A Nick Menza drumstick
A Rex (Pantera) plectrum
^^ all from the same gig back in '9?

Met the Paradise Lost guys when we went to see them and Skyclad, they were stood at the bar so we thought it rude not to talk to them!

The bass player in my old band's mum works at Jimmy Page's old school in epsom so she got us tickets to a very exclusive charity gig/qna session he put on. Looking back i should have brought my les paul for him to sign, just didnt think about it at the time. It was cool, some bands from the school played some of their songs then Jimmy came on and performed with some of the staff, really good evening. Just a shame i was too young to remember it in detail...

I got a Rex Plectrum too :D Back around '95 in the Barrowlands glasgow

I have 2 plecs given to me by Angus Young.

I sat and had a drink in a pub with Albert Lee before he played at the FlowerPot in Derby. Bought 2 of his CD's and had them both signed.

I met the guitarist from Mad Capsule Markets, and got something signed (i think it was something in my wallet).

I was in a lift with the drummer from UB40 (so my mum says).

Caught a Plec at a GlassJaw gig in Notts.

Played cards with Shadows Fall back stage when they played a Sheffield Uni some years ago.

Got drunk with Roger from Less Than Jake

Had a drink with the guys from In Flames in Nottingham before they supported Motorhead.

I think thats about it! :)

One of my mates was stopped by a man in Nottingham asking for directions, turns out it was Steve Vai!

I do remember Shows what a fan club can do. ;) Was Radio2's record of the week as well iirc.

His version of House of the Rising Sun is the best version out there. Was also the best track on any of the 3 singles. :D

Personally, signed Beatles vinyl *inherited - I don't like the Beatles*, signed Queen stuff, signed Jools Holland albums, signed BB King album, signed Crowded House albums, signed SRV vinyl, signed Clapton albums, signed Hitchhikers Guide season 1 and 2 tapes *whole cast plus Douglas :D*. I'm a geek for signed stuff.

Bumped into Roger Taylor in Norwich on his Electric Fire tour. Was going to see him that night. Nipped into Virgin megastore and bought his CD and he signed it for me... on the plastic wrapping *DOH!* so it's not opened. I bought another copy to play. :D

I had a drink with Albert, but after one of his gigs. A really nice chap, wouldn't you agree? :) Also, an insanely fantastic guitarist.

My bro got on of Josh Homme's drum sticks after a Eagles of Death Metal gig at the Carling Academy Islington, was a bit of scramble from what I remember :)

My first ever real metal gig.....Battle of the Bands in Johannesburg around 1993. Ten bands battling it out to see who would open for Carcass...I knew the last band's singer, so got right up to the stage to give him the devil's horns and rock out, when the loon walked onto the stage with a dead goat and heaved it into the crowd, followed by half a dozen tshirts. I got a tshirt......nearly took some kids head off for it, but I got it......that's my first and favourite - still have the shirt now :)

I've got a DJ Format tshirt signed by Format and Abdominal

Other than that, I've met some of my favourite bands - The Boxer Rebellion, Pelican, Made Out of Babies. Nothing special to most, but I had fun

Over the years I've met a few music people and either kept or misplaced the following:

Signed T-Shirt from Page Hamilton
Plectrum from Walter Schreifels (Quicksand).
Plectrum from Josh Homme (QOTSA).
Set list from Silversun Pickups

Met Page Hamilton
Met everyone in Clutch.
Met Kory Clarke from Warrior Soul
Met Pepper Keenan from COC
Met the Silversun Pickups
Met Stuck Mojo
Met Stanford Prison Experiment

I never get into gigs early enough to get to the front to get any decent stuff lol but I did meet OK GO at a gig, shook hands with the guitarist. Couldn't get close to the main guy; too many girls round him.

I have a signed BRMC album.

I bought a Coconut Records album last month and he sent me a polaroid of himself that he had taken which was cool. All the polaroid's are being featured in the next music video as well so that should be good to see.

Albert was (and still is) indeed an amazing guitarist, and also a great man. We chatted away about his set-up, and of course that awesome solo in Luxary Liner...
