What series worth buying...

just done an impulse buy of:
Hard Boiled Collectors Edition: played the demo stranglehold couldnt resist :)
Once Upon A Time In China Trilogy: Jet Li nuff said
Rocky VI: aint seen this one yet but ive been playing with the toys at work :p
Gladiator Extended Special Edition: fav movie so i thought id buy it again ;)


Ill buy The Sheild next week i promise :)
 
Rocky is pretty entertaining. I enjoyed it a lot.

Dunno about the rest though lol.

I woulda rather spent my money on a good series, lots of viewing for ya money :)
 
I suppose that's a valid complaint Kev. Personally I wasn't greatly enamoured with season 2 (although still good), but season 3 was my favourite yet (haven't finished 4). I prefer the slower pace to the Shield's relentless action.
 
The shield is good, 24 is great if you have not seen it season 1 - 5 is out on DVD and they are all worth buying.
 
Another vote for The Shield. I'd only seen a few trailers and found S1 in a sale and took a chance. Superb, went and bought S2 straight away.

Just finished S3 and just about to start S4, still as strong as S1.

Oh definately, if anyone is debating buying any Series on DVD and they HAVEN'T seen 24, then they need to get off the computer, down to <insert popular DVD shop< and buy as many seasons as possible.

It is just a crime to have not seen 24.

24 is becoming a bit too samey now though. I was extremely disapointed with the latest season shown on Sky. There are the usual plot twists and sometimes they can be really good, but mostly now they're just too unbelievable. I have watched both season 1 and 2 of the Unit and it's absolutely fantastic. I then hit a wall and discovered that The Shield is written by the same guy that writes parts of The Unit, and took a chance on season 1 and have now watched all the way up to season 5. Quality viewing, Vic Mackey is one double-hard *******! I think he'd have Jack Bauer for breakfast :)

Get The Shield man. It's top quality viewing from start to finish and the stuff they do is just so damn good. It'll consume your time :)

Hahaha :D I believe in Season 2(??) Bauer did a similar torture technique with a rolled up newspaper in the back of a car, or at least threatened to, it was a while ago now.
 
Jack is too reliant on technology to get any job done. Vic Mackey just needs his badge and gun. Actually, half the time he doesn't even need the badge. His street cred is so high :)
