Memory Testing....

Memtest86+ boots from floppy or CD and it doesn't need an OS installed. Because Windows isn't involved it tests for memory errors and, if it runs, it is testing hardware. I run a half dozen full passes, if no error I loop test #5 for at least 35 passes. That is my medium quick test. Once I do that I'll run just the 35 loops of test #5 after a little adjustment to my overclock or memory timings. When I'm testing settings I plan to run all the time I run all tests overnight and 100 loops of test #5.

Super Pi runs in Windows. If you can complete 32M a few times you aren't getting memory or processor errors. Sometimes you can run the shorter tests like 1M, 2M, or 4M with a few memory errors, you might even pass 32M once. But pass 32M several times and you should be pretty solid. Keep track of your times and you can track performance increases, or decreases. 1M, 2M and 32M are the most frequently quoted times.
