What sort of motorway driver are you?

i'm a mix of KLC and CCJ, but look as far ahead as possible. I generally slow down by disengaging cruise if i need to.

The inability of people to keep a constant pace was incredibly obvious on my jaunt up the m1/m6 on Sunday evening, there was 1 car that overtook me literally 15-20 times, only for me to go past them again without even changing lanes 20 seconds later. It was only made up for by his passenger being incredibly hot. she seemed confused as to why we kept ending up next to each other too lol.

I used to drive a car with cruise control and would combine sitting at 75mph and keeping in the left lane as much as possible. Now I just keep in the left lane as much as possible, obeying (mostly) speed limits and not attracting attention.

Anyway, aren't you supposed to move into the left lane whenever possible, apart from obvious exceptions?

How about TIMMID This is my motorway I'm driving :)

Generally I keep left, indicating as necessary to pull out.

Generally I am speed limit + 10mph indicated where possible but drive acording to traffic conditions.

I do not have a cruise control but like to maintain a constant speed.

I HATE people in the middle lane on empty motorways doing an indicated 70mph.

I HATE cars on the inside lane driving at less than 60mph forcing wagons to overtake.

Usually 60 in the left lane moving to the middle and accelerating appropriately to whatever speed that lane is doing to overtake lorries etc. :)

hmm, probably cruise control fella but i rarely have to turn it off (usually do my motorway miles later on in the day when its a lot quieter, if im in the sx, probably the slow lane one just to save on fuel xD.

Keep left at all times unless I have to overtake, in which case I indicate well in advance and watch my mirrors to avoid causing other drivers to slow down or reduce speed behind me.

Very considerate, I am :D

I'm none of them. I'm quite happy to sit at 60 in the left hand lane with the trucks and let you play your stupid games with each other while I kick back and relax :p

Unless I'm in a hurry in which case it's GET OUTTA MY WAY in the right hand lane!!!!

CCJ :D (though more well behaved)

The worst part of being a CCJ is it highlights inconsistant speed of other drivers, e.g. your slowly gaining on someone, you pull out to over take then as you overtake suddenly they have matched your speed so you have two choice, increase your speed or slow down and get back behind. Regardless of which one you do they will somehow then manage to either speed up and over take you or slow down and your back to square one.

Cruise control on a busy motorway is a pita.

I do wish my car had dynamic cruise. The 335i I had for a few months had this, was incredible, just set it to 3 car chevrons and relax, let the radar do the rest.

Was confusing when you forgot it was set to 85 though and the car infront that was doing 45 moves out of the way...car kicks down a few gears and engages warp drive lol.

CCJ - Just hate it when you come across someone going 50 in the left lane, 60 in the middle, and someone doing 90 in the right lane. You then have to brake, wait for the people doing 90 to go passed, then go around the MLM.

Mostly CCJ, I keep left if possible but if I have moved to the middle lane to overtake and I can see something else to overtake I will stay there rather than zigzag between lanes as that just results in some muppet trying to pass you at +2mph who wont get out of the way when you indicate right so you have to brake to avoid hitting the thing ahead.

I try to use the motorway properly, i drive a little quicker than most so I usually end up in the fast lane or middle lane on a busy motorway only moving over once in a while to let anyone coming up behind me at greater speed go past.

KLC :D

I have done next to no motorway driving in my 6 months on the roads, I normally stick to the left doing a good speed, blip to the middle and then back again to over take.

A few trips down the A3 in which case im a bit of a PMT boy racer...

I keep left with cruise control on, only staying in the middle lane if it is pointless moving back over (to avoid weaving in and out of lanes to get around lorries etc).

Use indicators, and keep left unless there's no one behind and something slow a little way up, usually stay at 75.
