I am sorry for such a noob question but I've honestly never really considered monitor specs before. I have a q20w5 benq

I don't really game much at the moment but can see me moving away from console and I like pretty visuals on the odd occasion I can sit and immerse in flight sim / fallout /AC

Anyhoo, so I was looking for 27" 1440p 144MHz with built in speakers, but I'm wondering if this is overkill for my new build?
I5 11600k with 3060ti.

Would I be better off going for 1080p to save some money, or will I miss out on 1440p goodness? I am aware that 1440p will challenge my system so the 144MHz would not be attainable on high/ultra settings.
Budget is an issue - I can probably manage £200-£300 if I'm really going to see a difference and the monitor will last me years, but if I won't see the gain I need to keep cost down.

I've just got myself all in a confuddle now about the best route to take! Help me straighten this out!

USB doesn't provide enough power for speakers.

And you should really have some multi socket extension cord with on/off switch for PC and its peripherals.
That's good way to make sure everything is powered down and model with EMI filtering and some surge protection isn't costly.

Power is all good - learnt my lesson 20 years ago during a storm which fried my board, modem and HDD... but my surge protected gang plug is full with office stuff, server, router hub etc... I'm upgrading from an all-in-one so what was once 1 requirement is now 2-3

Anyhoo, that's a bit off topic! Appreciate the advice!
