I just did a few speed tests and says im getting 76kps and upload about 25. and at night its 5112kbps and 337kbps

Link Information

Uptime: 1 day, 4:46:38
DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 7,360
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00

eh, that's really odd.

syncing at 448 / 7,360 would indicate you have a good line.

however your speed can automatically be capped (called profiling) if there are lots of errors/ disconnects, even when syncing at a high speed.

the only way to know if you have a low ip profile in effect is to contact your ISP (if not using a BT line), or to try speedtester.bt.com if using a BT line.

you can only try the bt checker once every few hours or so.

Ok well i have tried for about a week to get the correct info for me to do the bt speed test but the person I have been emailing on 02 has avoided answering my question 3 times now! He just wants me to ring up so they can test my router and what not.
Is it possible for my to opt out of my contract if they have not provided me with the service I am paying for and can prove it? maybe that why they dont want me to do a speed test.

Could it be a case of that your on o2 Access?

The reason I say so is the 448k upload. If this is the case, it might be down to the throttling/lack of bandwidth on the Access product, during peak times?

I am getting 02 access yes but I didnt think they throttled 24 hours a day and to such a extent of getting almost 56k speeds at times, They didnt tell me anything about throttling not even on the website before I rang up.

I believe o2 use Etna for their access product and they have been having capacity issues for sometime. This combined with their throttling of certain protocols, is leading to massive slow downs for some people.

O2 do not use Enta for their access product at all. They're BT Wholesale customers directly, but they certainly have been having capacity issues.

o2 email support is pretty useless. Quick and well intentioned, but it's still only designed (it seems to me) to cope with the most basic of support issues. However if you ring up and get put through to one of their tech people, they can make a pretty quick diagnosis and changes if necessary.

Mind you, I'm on their hardware at the exchange, which must help. If you're not LLU they'll have more limited abilities. It's still worth the hassle of calling though.

Well i have rang them twice today and the first time the guy was saying it was because i wasnt using the main socket, what load of poop! I have now tried all 3 sockets in my home and all are the same. So I ring up again and had some retard saying have you tried reseting your router! Im just going round in circles here its so frustrating and I cant do anything! The first guy was kind of helpful but second guy I kind of shouted at alittle, oops
