I very much doubt that I will be getting another car just yet, but if I do I want some ideas ;) :)

I would suggest another 200SX but i am going to get something different.

I really do like the look of the Toyota Celica (1994 - 1999) Gen6 model. but I know nothing about them and whats what and what prices really.

Insurance shouldnt be a problem :D

RECOMMENDATIONS SO FAR

Fiat Coupe
Hona Prelude 2.2 VTEC
Rover 620 Ti / Rover Coupe
BMW E36 328i Sport Coupe
Golf VR6
Toyota MR2

Honda Prelude 2.2 vtec :)

for 3K ? which version though, i do like these cars

Not sure which Rover a 620 is, i quite like the Rover coupe (i think its called)

Ive never been keen on the Fiat Coupe's, they look nasty IMO, insurance G. 20 and bout the same speed as a 200SX, i know what i'd rather have ;)

Another vote for the Prelude 2.2 Vtec, Gen 4 92-96, as they are faster 0-60, and i think they look better than the gen5's.

Should be able to get a nice one with change for insurance out of £3000 :)

You can get a Rover 220 Coupe Turbo which is the same engine as the 620Ti.

The 620 Ti is the 4 door saloon version, similar to the Honda Accord. The later ones (I think 1997 onwards) have a wasted spark engine and the earlier ones use a dizzy.

but what do the PLUS and the (6) all mean?

Different models, there was a Coupe Turbo PLUS (In the same way as you can get a Mondeo GLX) and the (6) is for models with a 6 speed gearbox.

Don't bother with 4th gen Prelude your budget is about twice the average Prelude budget so you can buy something newer and better.

Rover coupe would run you £600-1500 depending on what you got.

Basic mods are Koni shocks, front strut brace, boost controller, battery to boot, airfilter and exhaust.

Should give you about 200-210bhp and 200lb/ft and handle half decent, but wont be as good as other cars.

Steering feel is a little vague, its pretty light, 17" wheels make it a little heavier.

Good on smooth tarmac, bobbles a bit if it gets rough and upsets the handling.

Expect to average about 25mpg, less if you boot it and over 30 on the motorway.

0-60 in mid to low 6 seconds, traction in first being the issue, top speed will be ~150.

How about an MG-ZT? they can be had for that money are fast standard and with a few mods can be pretty rapid while still being excellent for the motorway miles!

There is one MG ZT on pistonheads at 3k and its a cat D write off, looks like at least £4,500 for one, and its not overly sporty or quick either!

had a look on Parkers.co.uk and im confused

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/data.aspx?model=220

0-60 in 6.3 secs is the fastest one

but what do the PLUS and the (6) all mean?
The original two models were the 16v na and the 16v turbo. They both had black strips down the side and horrible alloys.

They were replaced in around 97 with the 20v engines, both na and turbo. The 20v turbo had brembo brakes and better alloys. These engines were identical in all models up until the car ceased production.

In around 99 they introduced the plus and the limited edition. The plus had a 6 speed gearbox and all the trim was painted body coloured and had push button starter

The limited edition was a 20v turbo with a bodykit on it, push button start, diffrent alloys, grey body bits (eg grill and lights) and nice recaros and trim.

A lot of cars now will have the limited edition bodykit on it (mine has). There are other bodykits eg Zender (fiat bodykit) which are also quite common.

If you have any questions I'll be happy to help.

Oh and all 20v turbos are the same 0-60, regardless of what model they are. The engines, brakes, suspension, etc are identical. The only difference may be the 5spd or 6 spd gearbox, but I think the only differences are the high end gears. With a few minor mods I got a 0-60 of 5.7.
