As title I'm looking to upgrade me TV but don't know what to buy, I currently have a Samsung 40" 720p TV which is ok I suppose for just viewing Virgin Media stuff, but as My monitor has a far superior display quality I find going into the living room and watching TV a bit.....well carp now. I don't have loads of money to spend so £400 would be my limit. My current TV is say 9-10 years old now and cost me £650.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Panasonic VIERA TX-50CX700B 50" LED TV Smart 3D Ultra HD 4K with Freeview Play
£450 ?
two years in, and am still happy with a (genuine non vestel) Panasonic tv from here

ADDENDUM: Personally I would even prioritize a 40" tv with better quality panel / motion processing / colour adjustment than a 49" slightly lower down manufacturer hierarchy - saw you can buy dx600 at same place for similar money (this is an interesting dilemma for a new thread :))

Samsung H6400 48" Richer sounds was doing it for £399 only last week. But im not sure if they will be any left. Think they was doing it to get rid since it was a 2014 model. a lot of people including myself have this TV and it is a Excellent set. If you can find one. Which im sure you will somewhere. Grab it and if you can get it for £399 its a steal

A certain "e" site has the Samsung H6400 48" at £423. I paid £450 for it last year. Well worth getting!
