What the FLIP IS A LONG WEIGHT AND left handed screwdriver

I was fortunate enough to be told every one of these before I started my apprenticeship - So whenever someone tried to catch me out as the newbie, I would be able to defend myself with a smartly placed come back :p
 
Working in a shop, We used to take enquiries from customers about a product they wanted to know about.. One day we got the number from our local roofing company from the phone book, and put the customers name a mrs Ruth Tyler on the enquiry form, many lol's were had when my colleague phoned them asking to speak to Ruth Tyler, regarding a wireless router she had been asking about :P
 
Years ago I was asked by my manager to go and get him a book from whsmith's He gave me the money and wrote down the book. Went in and asked for " A walk in the park by Teresa Green" I didn't even twig onto it until the woman was searching for it on the computer.

When I did work experience, we kept getting phone calls from a rather annoying marketing company and we managed to convince them that the GM was called Poppy Tupper. Then we convinced them that she had got married and was now known as Poppy Tupper-Slowly.
 
Heard the local garage getting their work experience lads to order laughing shafts and all the other usual flange muffs etc.

There was a site on the net (kid on ecommernce thingy) that pretended to sell left handed screwdrivers, sparks for the grinders etc :D

Similar to the purple shirts story above a few years ago when bored we got a work mate to call up the local crematorium and ask for Myra Maines :D

And called the local Maplins looking for : a flux capacitor - didnt have any, ok, how about some warp coils - nope none of them, ok ok - how about a plasma conduit ... at this point the manager getting asked by the sales guy obviously was getting a bit ****ed off and screamed at him :D
 
lol. i loved these where we were at school. my fave teacher (Mr Eades if anyone cares lol) always used to ask the new kids for such things. all the teachers would have kids wandering about looking silly.
