I don't quite get how that works, do they inject into the skin or blood?

A crazy way to get a tan, though it reminds me of an idea i had before, apparently people can turn blue if they drink something called colloidal silver, so i was thinking couldn't they design something similar that instead gives a tan, though you may be stuck with it, im sure i read it can't be undone. :p

Serious post... has it become fashionable to be literally orange?

I've seen probably 20-30 women in the last couple of weeks who were literally orange.... It just isn't possible to tan that colour !?

people who inject melanotan will not go orange, they will tan after time. It only really works when using sunbeds as melanotan basically relies on UV rays to bring the melanon in the body upto the surface which produces a tan.

I know a guy who turned really dark and actually looked like he was from Pakistan, no joke.

Melanotan is basically a hormone. I didn't like how it made me feel and when I heard stories of people who used it falling ill, I stopped it.

Funnily enough I was at a meal on Sat night when one of the girls was telling us about a local bouncer at the pub she works at. He injects tan in to his body and he is so dark that you would struggle to pick him out from the other black bouncers, only way you can is because of his white features.

Not sure if he uses beds etc on top but everyone says he looks extremely silly!

Tans are for poor people who have to work doing manual labour in the sun. Being pale is where it's at.

Or, this is a country with miserable weather year-round. Tans are for rich people who can afford exotic foreign holidays on a regular basis...

Isn't it amazing how social norms and fashions change based on socio-economic conditions over time? Not sarcastic, I honestly find it intriguing. :)

As for the junk in the OP, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Urgh. I'm the colour I am, the only tan I get is on my right arm when I'm driving. Bloody gayers and chavs and their Oompa Lumpa tangoness. :p

Also:

So in other words, you expose yourself to UV rays and get a tan... with or without the injections, no? I take it they're intended to intensify the results?

That sounds like something ginger people might say :p
The funny thing is, people with natural tans are frowned upon for being reckless due to health risks.

Back to the OP, I cannot believe the lengths people will go to. Why??? Probably an unfortunate mix of insecurity and vanity.

If someone photoshops purple hair onto her then we've got a match for an Oompa Loompa

I knew you were old fashioned in some attitudes but that's pushing it. With my skin colour I'd be thought of as rather well off in Victorian Britain though.

yup, UV Rays intensify the results dramatically. I know a few people who've used this stuff (other than me) and they've noticed dramatic results in a few weeks injections and around 6 or 7 sunbed sessions.
