What to do? (With my site design wise)

Hi all,

I currently have a very boring and plain website,

I cant think of how to make it better, or if I should redesign a whole new site? Trouble is, I can never come up with ideas, and when I do I cant atcually do them . I mean if I was to do a new website, I would probably (sp) use photoshop for the layout, but that uses dodgy code iirc? (I can code, but I would get bored in the start, I would code all the features I would want though.. that I havent done on the current site ).

Any ideas how to "spruce up" the current site?

Oh, and I know it wont validate, I havent got round to doing it )

I have tried to knock something up using photoshop (then recode/add code etc etc).

As you can see I have failed

What can I do to this to make it look better? I like the layout (what I have done) but it still looks very plain.

you know you're going to change it now after my anal comment though.

edit: don't forget, have a badgers at this: MOCK UP it's less flat, more design, nicer to look at imo.

See I would love to be able to make something even half as good as that from scratch!

Might have to check over the HTML/CSS and learn some more me thinks

All I know best is designing from Photoshop and even that seems a bad idea lol

Bevel and Embross is extremely overused. Avoid it.

Start with a clean cut logo, no need for special layer styles. The colour and font should be enough.

Like this recent logo concept I done:

Now they look good, very simple and thats the way I like my sites (hense the Kings Kingdom original site) ....
