What to get?

Thanks for the input guys. I've always liked the looks of the ST's. What's the spec on the RS's?

Budget - £9-10k
Useage - Short journeys, day trips with the misses etc
3/5dr? - Either or, probably a 3dr to be honest

I've had a full license for almost 10 years now and i've never had a 'fun', 'powerful' car. I think i'll need to test drive them to get a good feel for what they are like on the road.

I've done the same thing as you (But wiht some research into what engines the cars have :p)

Focus ST

Great car, nicely balanced, everything I'd want and more, and my girlfriend also loves them!

Astra VXR

Didn't feel as "nice" as the Focus, bit harsher, stiffer, can certainly go, but I didn't enjoy the handling and general feel compared to the ST

Corsa VXR

Great fun little car, but a bit smaller than what I was looking for, but handles nicely, not lacking in speed if you've never had a "fun, more powerful car" as you said.

Golf GTI

The one I still haven't tested...must do... :)

Mini Cooper S

Perfect little car, boot space is enough for 1, maybe 2 pencils though! But a great car that just makes you grin from ear to ear!

Renaultsport Megane

Now allowed to test it, she think they are f'ugly, and tbh, I'm not gonna argue when I have the rest of the list and she's allowing me to buy a new car :)

would your budget stretch to a scirocco?

Another car I quite like the look of.

I do have an ST question though - Difference between a ST-2 and a ST-3?

Also, are all models 2005> 2.5L Turbo?

EDIT : The main difference is the ST3 comes with leather seats as standard, and also a 6CD changer ;)

Get an Astra VXR then take it to Thorney for some Iridium plugs and a Miltek Race plus a bluefin remap. Easy 300bhp and will distroy anything that comes up next to you.
