What to look for when buying a Skoda Fabia VRS

He even had the cheek to say "Not been funny or anything but they'll be other people who are interested in the car who won't be as picky with the service history"

Ha, yea... at that point I would have just said "Well I am" and walked away.

Anyone with a tiny knowledge of cars looks for things like full service history, especially with something that has only done 68k and isn't all that old!!

Thats fine, it just seems your experience is at odds with most other peoples :)

Including mine. IMHO the Octy vRS is cheap way to get a fairly modern, practical, 180BHP car with a huge boot... and not much more. The vRS wasn't the flagship model, that honour went to the L&K which is a much nicer place to sit especially with a black full or half leather interior.

The interior is functional but I couldn't really say much more than that. Silly things like the cheap mesh fabric on the seats put a bit of a downer on the general feel of it but remember what they were knocking them out for. I found the original receipt for mine £15,200 inc cruise. Towards the end they were banging them out for just over £13k which was stunning VFM but its no BMW beater in the plastics and switches department.

Anyway I've gone OT here so back to the Fabia.

IMO its OK, the engine is decent enough as adequate performance, frugal engines go but its no "hot hatch". Handling is a bit squiffy too due to the whacking great lump in the front of an otherwise small motor. I'd be looking elsewhere though personally.
