Hello All,

Wondering what to upgrade in my computer to boost performance for video games until skylake hits next year and pascal cards.

My specs are

I7 920 OC to 3.6ghz
12gb DDR3
2TB HDD Barracuda
GTX 680 Lightning MSI

Wins 7 64

as mentioned to top I'd like to try get much performance out of it until next year like to witcher 3 on high or ultra and anything else.

I was going to blow £3000 on a new computer this month with 980 ti and 5830k with 32gb ddr4 but I decided to wait til next year is when there will be big leaps in cpu and gpu architecture.

I believe pascal will be 10 x faster then a 980 atm? from a nvidia graph that they shown.

Budget around £200

if I was you I would get a new GPU, the rest of the PC is fine at the moment for gaming.

for that price your looking at a Nvidia 960 or a AMD R7 300 range and R9 380 range. other option is you could buy second hand GPU

I am running the I7 950 @ 4ghz and 12GB of ram, the only thing that's letting my system down is my GPU (Radeon HD 5830 1GB) which I am going to be replacing at some point.

do you have a SSD? this will help with smoothness and response of the PC but not FPS increase. will make games with maps to load etc faster as well.

no I don't have a ssd was not sure if it would work on a P6T Deluxe V2 Motherboard? also you mentioned gpu what would you recommend that be better then my MSI Lightning GTX 680.

Not too expensive as I plan to get a new system next year.

I have edited my original post with some options in there as I didn't add them before

well it tough choice because I do have the money to blow £2500 - 3000 on a new computer now but it to go for 4790k or skylake or wait for pascal cards deciding what to do is frustrating at best.
