Location Location!
Hey,

I'm looking to take the GF to a big trance night. Unfortunately I have no idea what clubs are best. I want it to be huge, epic, and full of proper trance. The bigger the better.

What's the biggest trance/dance club in England? Is there a huge event once a year that is a must-see? Any helpful hints?

Thanks in advance!

Tell me your location and DJs you like then i'll try and find a good night for you in the next month or so :)

Tangled in Manchester is a good hard house/trance night.

Unfortunately most venues for this kind of thing are grotty holes. If you really want to do it right go to SSS or Creamfields or something and hang out in the trance tent :)

Wouldnt agree with that tbh - im not a fan of "festivals".
You don't get the same atmosphere in a tent IMO

Not all are grotty holes, Gatecrasher One, The Syndicate both
these two are awsome looking clubs, you have to wipe your feet on
the way in instead of on the way out ;)

If you want to do it "right" wait till summer season then head over to Ibiza ;)

As for the gatecrasher night, the people are always friendly, the music will be loud (earplugs!), the lighting is superb, the atmosphere is great, you will almost certainly have an awesome night and i would definately recommend a first time trancer to go BUT as smilie man said the lineup for the night in february is very techy which isn't to everyones tastes.

Sorry but don't agree with that! Gatecrasher most certainly isn't a hole, turnmills do trance every friday and although it's not perfect it's far from grotty, honey club in brighton was a nice club etc etc

As for festivals my first ever proper trance night was at GKGG '04 and i had a fantastic night but i think you get much more of a 'feel' for the trance community if you go to a nightclub, especially somewhere with an established following like gods or crasher, slinky etc

This looks real interesting. Will definately investigate :)

Edit: Ace, Air looks like an awesome club. Listening to some of Ferry's stuff now, it class. Unless anyone can trump this night it looks like it's Brumsville on the 24th.

The only trance nights I've been to have been either in the north or as far south as brum, no further. I've found the best atmosphere in the worst clubs if I'm perfectly honest. Kube in Wakefield, After Dark/Orbit in Morley, WIC in Leeds and Tangled in Manchester (edit: though Tangled has a new venue and I've not been there).

Nights at the Republic were awful, and overrun with crasher kids.

I know festival experiences are a different kind of thing entirely, but those would be my choices, either a grotty hole or a big tent. 'Nice' clubs just don't do trance nights right IMO.

What's wrong with crasher kids? Just curious because they've never been anything besides friendly to me and don't get me wrong, i love small, dark and dingy clubs, i've even been clubbing in a cave :D

Eteson ROCKS!!!

He played the warm-up for the Gods Xmas party, and then again after Judge Jules and just before Armin, and made them both look terrible!

He's a great dj with great taste in trance, deffo deserves his resident status at Godskitchen :D

I watched a livestream of White in 2005, it looked awful!

Cheesy music, terrible mixing, and that naff 'megamix' in the middle.

If you are going to do Holland, it's ALL about Dance Valley
