What TV shows are you currently watching

HIMYM was regular viewing for us - loved it. Hope it still stands up well. However, when you have finished the show, there is another ending, think it was on the extras, but deffo available on YT. Report back which ending you preferred (no peeking as obvs spoilerific).
 
Started watching This City Is Ours last night. Only watched up to episode 2 so far. It's been fine so far, not mind-blowing.

On another note, I went downstairs to the kitchen after finishing episode 2 of the above, and I could hear the Mrs sobbing in the living room. She was in the middle of watching what was apparently one of the saddest episodes of Gilmore Girls. Sat down for a bit to see what the fuss was all about, and although it's not the type of show I'd usually watch, the drama aspect was surprisingly enjoyable to watch. I could also tell it was an early 2000s show with the very occasional drops in picture quality, although quite subtle so probably not noticeable to most people.
 
Netflix were pushing Heroes ads on Facebook, which prompted me to just rewatch a few of the first episodes to see if it has aged well, and suddenly the Mrs is hooked (She's never seen it)..

I only vaguely remembered bits of the plot so I was able to rewatch without getting bored and might roll on to finishing season 1 and go on to season 2 as I can't remember if it held together well or nose dived..

Finished this last night. I mean it's an 8 episode show and it did get tense as the show went on, but I just didn't find it that special. Bit disappointed if I'm honest.

Considering how big it was, I'm not sure if I'm in the minority here?

You're not alone as I was disappointed with it too. It definitely had brief moments of brilliance but on the whole, it just fell flat.

I will of course watch the new one when it's out but my expectations will be low! Lol.

My Mrs said I should've just continued watching Gilmore Girls with her instead after catching a bit of it the other night.

Admittedly, I think I enjoyed watching that tiny bit of the Gilmore Girls episode that she was watching more than This City Is Ours. The two shows are obviously completely different so can't be compared, but enjoyed the drama from whatever that episode was. It isn't a type of show that I'd watch at all... :cry:

Hopefully season 2 is better, but I'm not getting my hopes up either!
 
I wish I hadn’t bothered with series two of Death Valley. Didn’t improve from series one. Corny, annoying characters that overact. Ludwig does it so much better. 4.5/10
 
About half way through the last series of Fargo (rather delayed because of World Cup watching...)

Really enjoying it, much better than series 4. Juno Temple and Jon Hamm have been fantastic.
 
Just started A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The first episode doesn't exactly blow you away, but it's entertaining enough to see what happens next.
 
Just finishing up S2 of ST Voyager - missed most of this when it first aired.

The Thaw: Chuck from Better Call Saul! This was quite a dark episode and the ending of him fading out of existence was like a Twilight Zone episode.

Tuvix: as with The Thaw, Janeway making and doing the tough decisions. Interesting dilemma for the Captain and Crew.

Also, Chakotay. I found him annoying in S1 and too much time dedicated to the Maquis and spiritual crap. However, in S2 he is very underused, it's either:

Chakotay saying, "I concur with your idea Captain" or

Chakotay, "I think we should do x"
Janeway, "No".

I've seen interviews where he said he wasn't really happy with his character and how he was used, i can see why now. Spock, Riker, most No1's were well used, Chakotay isn't, maybe he gets better in later seasons?
