My laptop currently has XP Home that came with it but I need to log into a domain and have been told that XP home can't do this so I'm thinking of upgrading to Vista (laptop should run it ok) so I'm wondering what the cheapest version I can upgrade to to do this? I don't use it for games so just want a basic version that can log onto a domain.

Cheers

so Vista home edition has the same problems as XP home?

Will this do the trick?

Whats the difference between this and the full version?

Cheers

It's not a problem, it's by design. Normal home users have absolutely no use for Domains.

If you do have use for domains at home, you're a power user - so would want Ultimate to get all the domain stuff along with the home 'media' stuff.

And if you're not bothered about the home stuff, go for Business.
