What Virtual Reality games are you playing?

Ah, thanks for telling us.

Point taken, using QGO is not a guarantee of improvements for all Meta titles, but it does seem to have its place for others. I'll probably pick it up at some point, kinda put off with the faff of installation.

Does it work with Build V81 girmware..? I am noting this over that the QGO page ....

Public Test Channel (PTC)

  • In general, please avoid the PTC channel
  • v81 (PTC) Meta broke MTP US

Where it list any known bugs or issues.....

Will try and take a look in the next few days when I get home. Been away for a few weeks and took my quest to try and make the most of the free space in the hotel room!

On other games I have played recently, managed to play through Godzilla Kaiji Wars VR. Would definitely recommend it, wouldn’t say graphics were much better than Q3, but I found the motion and controls great. Possibly not a good idea if you get nauseous in VR and/or suffer from vertigo!

I suppose, once installed, it is something that gives you choice, not exactly overly expensive.
If you get the chance to try it with V81 then thanks for doing so

theres a few games like that, i saw the advert for laser dance on reddit.
its a need idea, i always feel theys types of MR games aren't meant for GB homes and mostly designed for larger homes.
if WMG & Dating shows me anything its that im rubbish at timing :D

In addition to my constant modded Skyrim VR playthough, I've played the PC version of Arken Age as I bought that a while ago and the Q3 release brought it back on my radar. It's one of the best looking PCVR games I've seen in a long while and reminds me a lot of the old Oculus PC game Stormlands.
I also bought Thrasher on Steam (by the same guys who did Thumper) and it's absolutely striking and unsettling (like Thumper).

Ashok, UEVR, has been mentioning recently of his intent to return back to Skyrim in terms of modding.

Need to get back to my headset, although Anno 117 is calling soon.......

Playing forefront a bit at the moment. Progression feels slow to me, but then I'm only playing a few games here and there.

Updated to v81 and no issues, although there was an update to QGO also when I tried. v81 was via the regular channel, not PTC so maybe they fixed something before the regular release?

Unsurprisingly, I'm playing this PCVR and mobile. Some really nice detail, but some really bad flying controls.

Jut try and search for it on the store though.

Alien: Rogue Incursion VR now on a 65% sale at £11.72. For that price I'm going to try it.

Arizona Sunshine 2 is on a 56% discount at £19.35 but I might wait for a bigger discount. Haven't played the VR for ages, need to get back into it.

I ended up getting Arizona Sunshine 2, but I accidentally installed Arizona Sunshine Remake today and started playing that! lol Graphics are nice, but the controls feel like then could use a slight polish, especially with detecting things that can be "sucked" towards your hand and the whole auto equiping weapons etc. It also feels rather linear, certainly compared to The Walking Dead. But it's kinda fun, so far. I wish I had a backpack though, it just feels a little lacking in depth. I hope Arizona Sunshine 2 is better.

Just played through the single player campaing of Zero Calibre Reloaded on the Q3, really enjoyed it! Assume the 2nd is much of the same? May grab it on Steam. Not really interested in the MP side.

After all these years, I'm considering trying VR out for the first time.

What's the recommended options for a decent headset?

TBH, I don't have much of an idea which games are even VR capable, though I believe there's a version of Doom 3 in VR, which I would love to try.
Half-Life Alyx is another, IIRC?

I should add I'm running an AMD GPU, which might not be in my favour where VR is concerned?

assume you dont now any one with VR?

NVidia is considered better but plenty of people run AMD.

general concenese would be the quest3s there should be a deal on it for black friday.

personally i suggest quest 3 for the better lens but there a cost increase, i admit i dont use mine as much as is should.

is suggest VirtualDesktop (connect PC to quest headset either wired or wireless depending on avaialbe hardware)
but "quest link" and "steam link" work well also

our standard games monday night are : walkabout mini golf
the peeops also do Automobilista 2
Demeo is always good as a socal game (2d and vr)
we are currently working through Demeo x Battlemarked

there are demos and free games to try

some games to look at (paid):
Garden of the sea (2d and vr)
Forefront
cook-out
Space City Folk
The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets
Space Pirate Trainer
Max Mustard - PC Only
Ancient Dungeon
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR - PC only

i'd suggest looking at your libary and seeing which ones supports vr either natively or with mods.

for easy and pick up and play the standalone games on meta store are "better" / optimised for pick up and play. pc is a bit more fidly.

for doom 3 have a look at : https://sidequestvr.com/app/2651/doom3quest

Thanks for the info. :)

I've just had a very quick check to see what the cost for the Quest3 is;
£230 - £330 would seem to be what I'm looking at (if buying right now).

I see the HTC on OcUK is ~£440 and on Steam, the prices continue to rise further.

I think this is something I'll have to watch a video or two on, so I can educate myself a little.

thats a good point really do you want to be standalone or full pc.
are yoou happy to go with meta?

bear in mind some pcvr head sets need base stations. others are inside out tracking

quest 3s : 128gb model - £250
quest 3s : 256gb - £325
quest 3 : 512gb - £470

also your budgets something else to conside as well as resale value.

I don't mind which unit I purchase providing it gives me a good experience, and although I have no set budget,
I tend to prefer to buy hardware which sits in the VFM segment of high-end, if that makes sense. :)

I didn't realise there were 'base stations' involved, or, for that matter, different versions, e.g. 128GB through to 512GB.

Plenty to read up on.
