What was the film with Mel Gibson in it where he makes the shed in his back garden and believes he sees words from loads of code?

i think it may have been near the end, im sure he turned his shed into a place where he thought there was loads of radio transmissions and electronics and stuff and really there was just a load of paper trimmings.

i can just remember him looking at newspapers and seeing words randomly fly out
