5600 ultra. I thought it was a good card until I bought Doom 3 
it was basically a slide show playing that game until I bought a 6600GT. Much better card.

My crap list includes an ATI EAX1600 pro, Nvidia 8600, Nvidia 9500 and Nvidia 9600. I gave up after that dire bunch and stuck an Nividia GTX260 in my HTPC in the end

It seems I've been rather fortunate with my GFX purchases. Since 1997 all of them have been great and given me no cause to hate them. I could go on and on about other bits of hardware, but graphcis... All cool, baby.
I am getting an XFX 6850 delivered tomorrow, so who knows... Famous last words and all that.

Agreed, i also hated the 7900gt and had nothing but problems with 9800 pro's because of shoddy drivers tho the 9800xt seemed to work ok

I had a nVidia TNT2 that was so unreliable it was unreal - then when I 'upgraded' to a GeForce2 MX400 I was again less than impressed - pants drivers, a poor excuse of a 3D card

An ati 2900xt, put me off ati a bit, havent bought one since, drivers were rubbish, nvidia arent perfect but ive never had issues with their cards.

TNT2 MX. First graphics card I ever bought and the PC just wouldn't POST with it. replaced it with a Voodoo3 3000. Happy days. I remember seeing half life running flawlessly at 1024x768 for the first time...

There were known issues with the VIA KT333 chipset, like the one found on my Asus A7V333R motherboard. I swapped every component in my machine to find this out. About a year down the line this became common knowledge
Ah right, didn't know that. Honestly can't remember that far back but it is possible I had that chipset. Either way it is all in the past now. I remember getting a 9800 Pro cheap a while later and being really impressed with the performance.

geforce fx 5200.. omg was that bad. fair play, seemed to handle nfs most wanted quite well, but any other 'technologically advanced' game brought it to its knees. it was quite depressing turning graphics down to low,low/medium.. and i bragged to my mates i had a geforce 5 what a douche. I remember my first '3d card', the sis 6326 8mb agp, with no heatsink on at all, and i could play most games with that, even highly detailed fighter pilot games. geforce fx series should be classified as **** (another word for excrement)
